Monroe Central Bands

THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT HAS GRANTED THE BAND DEPARTMENT THE CONCESSIONS DURING THE COUNTY TOURNAMENT. WE NEED PEOPLE TO SIGN UP TO WORK. MR. THORNBURG HAS NOT GIVEN ME TIMES OR NUMBER OF PEOPLE NEEDED. PLEASE EMAIL STACEYLBRIGGS@MONROECENTRAL.ORG TO SIGN UP TO WORK. BELOW ARE THE DATES NEEDED!!!
Wed., Jan. 5 – Winter Guard members & parents.
Thur., Jan. 6 – Winter Percussion members & parents.
Fri., Jan. 7 – MCBBA

The Monroe Central Band Department continued its tradition of improvement with a FANTASTIC concert on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. A MERRY CHRISTMAS to all members and their families. Enjoy your well deserved vacation.

As a side note – NO PEP BAND ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2010.

7:00 – Choir concert (for those wanting to attend to support the choir and/or write a report for extra credit).
7:30 – All grades (7-12) in band room. All individuals are silent from the moment they enter the building until the choir concert is over.
7:45 – approximate time to build the stage for the concert
8:15 – approximate time to start the concert. About 30-40 minutes in length.

Sunday, December 19, 2010, we need help with the Colts concession booth. We have dissolved our “relationship” with the hot dog stand (took 12 people) and have taken over the Gyro booth outside of our old hot dog stand. It only takes 4 people (2 licensed, 2 non-licensed) to run the booth. Dana will be contacting people soon to help. This will be our booth the remaining of the contract (through March). Prior to moving to this booth, thanks to Dana’s efforts, over $4000 has been raised for the band WITHOUT taking it from our community. This stand will make less money, but is less stress for all involved. Please step up and help. It is more fun than you can imagine.

The December 2010 meeting of the Monroe Central Band Boosters has been canceled. Enjoy the month off. We need everyone at the January 18, 2011 meeting.

Due to situations beyond Mr. Briggs’ control, the winter concert scheduled for Sunday, 12/12/2010 has been moved to Wednesday evening, 12/15/2010 at 8:15PM. ALL band members must be in the band room no later than 7:30PM. Please enter the building in “STEALTH” mode because of the choir concert (@ 7PM).
